UFC on ESPN Recap: Taira’s Breakout Win and Ranking Shifts
Tatsuro Taira made a major statement in the Flyweight main event at UFC on ESPN, and the rankings reflect it. His clinical domination of HyunSung Park — including a knockdown and a vicious submission — catapults him four spots up to #4 in the division. Park, on the other hand, tumbles three places to #15, barely holding onto a ranked position.
Another riser in the Flyweight ranks is Rafael Estevam, who dominated Felipe Bunes with relentless top control. The win helps Estevam jump three spots to #11, pushing Andre Lima and others down the ladder.
In Women’s Bantamweight, Karol Rosa climbs to #10 after smothering Nora Cornolle with takedowns and ground-and-pound en route to a dominant decision win. The loss knocks Cornolle out of the rankings, with Priscila Cachoeira entering at #15.
On the Lightweight side, the rankings saw minor reshuffling despite no major fights in that division. Most notably, Mauricio Ruffy enters at #15, making his debut on the list after a string of impressive performances outside this event. Benoit Saint Denis, Grant Dawson, and others all shift down one spot to accommodate him.
In Light Heavyweight, Zhang Mingyang moves ahead of Bogdan Guskov for the #9 position. While neither fought on this card, the change reflects ongoing algorithmic recalibration based on strength of schedule and recent activity.
