UFC 317 Aftermath: Topuria’s Takeover and Van’s Rise Shake Up Rankings

Ilia Topuria made good on all his promises at UFC 317, and the rankings reflect it. After knocking out Charles Oliveira in a stunning main event finish, Topuria becomes the new UFC lightweight champion and leaps to #2 in the Pound-for-Pound list, trailing only Islam Makhachev. Oliveira, now on the wrong side of another title loss, drops to #12 P4P and #2 at lightweight.

Another major mover is Joshua Van, who climbs six spots to become the #2 flyweight contender. His all-out war with Brandon Royval was one for the ages, and the win earns him a title shot against Alexandre Pantoja, who dominated Kai Kara-France in the co-main. Kara-France falls two places to #9 as a result.

In the middleweight division, Gregory Rodrigues rockets into the rankings at #14 following a brutal KO over Jack Hermansson. His reentry comes at the expense of Joe Pyfer, who slides to #15.

Over in lightweight, Beneil Dariush stops his skid and gains four spots to sit at #7 after a grappling-heavy decision over Renato Moicano, who drops three ranks to #11. Rafael Fiziev reappears in the top 15 at #12, shaking things up further in a crowded field.

Jose Delgado also cracks into the featherweight top 15, entering at #11 thanks to a lightning-fast knee KO of Hyder Amil. Amil drops two spots to #12.

Lastly, Tracy Cortez vaults five positions to #5 in the women's flyweight rankings after a dominant ground performance over Viviane Araujo, who drops one spot to #6.

UFC 317 delivered on action and impact, leaving several divisions reshuffled as new contenders emerge and established names fall.
